LAGOS – The Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr Akinola Idowu, on Friday urged residents yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so as the registration exercise resumes.
This is contained in a statement issued by the chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Sunday Adefamoye.
Idowu said the third phase of the registration exercise reopened on May 4 and would end on Aug. 17, describing it as a vital opportunity for residents to obtain their PVCs.
He said the exercise would take place at the Arigbanla Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office, No. 20 Arigbanla St., Abekoko, Orile-Agege, Lagos State, where trained officials would assist registrants.
The chairman noted that biometric equipment would be deployed to assist residents registering anew, updating their details or collecting their PVCs.
He urged residents to come with the necessary documents and encourage family members, friends and neighbours to participate.
“Together, we can ensure that no eligible voter is left behind,” he said.
Idowu stressed that civic responsibility remained crucial to shaping the future of Orile-Agege and Nigeria.
“As executive chairman, I call on everyone to take this exercise seriously. Let us demonstrate our commitment to democracy,” he said.
He added, “Get your PVC now. Let us stand united in building a stronger and more inclusive democracy for generations to come.” (NAN)
