Abuja (Precise Post) – Report reaching Precise Post has it that Channels TV’s Sunrise daily lead anchor Chamberlain Usoh and his colleague have been arrested by Operatives of Department of State Services.
The arrest is not unconnected with alleged anti-Buhari interviews hosted on the channel on Tuesday.
Reports say Chamberlain alongside Kayode Okikiolu were picked up this morning by operatives of the state security forces in connection with interviews with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
Recall that Ortom had during the interview, accused President Muhammadu Buhari of promoting a Fulanisation agenda. Also another guest, Commodore Kunle Olawunmi (rtd) had during his interview in Channels revealed that people who are high up in the Buhari’s government are sponsors of Boko Haram.
Chamberlain reportedly confirmed the development but said he did not know where they were being taken to.
Precise Post recalls that the National Broadcasting Commission had on Wednesday written Channels Television over alleged contravention of some provisions in the Nigerian Broadcasting Code.
The Commission alleged that the anchor of the program didn’t interrogate the comments made by the governor thoroughly.
