ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25, 2023 general election in Nigeria, Peter Obi has visited Jigawa State to commiserate with and stand in solidarity with my brother, the Governor, His Excellency Mallam Umar A. Namadi, over the painful loss of his mother and son recently.

The former Anambra State Governor who disclosed this on his X account on Thursday (today), said his thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and the people of Jigawa as they navigate this profound grief.

Obi also prayed Almighty Allah to protect, bless, grant him and his family the strength and solace to endure this difficult period and find comfort in the love and support of those around them.

“May Almighty Allah forgive the sins of the dead and grant them Aljanna Firdausi”, he added.

Precise Post recalls that Hajia Maryam Namadi, the mother of Jigawa State Governor died in the early hours of Wednesday, 25th December, 2024 and his eldest son, Abdulwahab, died in a car accident on Thursday, just one day after the governor’s mother, passed away from an illness.

Abdulwahab was driving back to Dutse with his friends from Kafin Hausa when his car lost control and flipped over. His friends who were in the car survived but were hurt and are now getting medical care at Dutse General Hospital.

Further recall that Governor Namadi, had on Sunday, while receiving Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Yahaya, who led a delegation on a condolence visit to Kafin Hausa town in Jigawa State, to sympathise with him (Namadi), remarked that his son, Abdulwahab, and mother, Hajiya Maryam, died about a week after he gave out the hand of his daughter, Fatiha, in marriage.
