OWERRI – The presidential candidatestat of Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 general election, Peter Obi has eulogised Bishop Simeon Okezuo Nwobi over his appointment as Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Imo state.
The former governor of Anambra state said Bishop Simeon has a long history of dedicated service to God and the church. Having served the church in different capacities, and his appointment attests to his leadership ability to steer the affairs of the Diocese and spread peace and brotherly love which will aid the propagation of the gospel of Christ and the development of our nation.
Obi who took to his X account to hail the newly installed Bishop, said:
“Today, I was in Mbaise, Imo State, where, alongside other dignitaries, I joined the jubilant worshippers at the Installation of Bishop Simeon Okezuo Nwobi as the Catholic Bishop of Ahiara Diocese.
“This day marks a significant milestone in the history of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara. Bishop Simeon has a long history of dedicated service to God and the church. Having served the church in different capacities, his appointment as the Bishop of Ahiara attests to his leadership ability to steer the affairs of the Diocese and spread peace and brotherly love which will aid the propagation of the gospel of Christ and the development of our nation.
“I pray God to grant him more exceeding grace, strength and wisdom in his new office, as he continues to contribute to a better Ahiara in particular, and Nigeria in general. May God bless Ahiara Diocese and our dear nation, Nigeria.” -PO
Precise Post recalls that other dignitaries who graced the ocassion were former governors like Ihedi Ohakim, Rochas Okorocha, Emeka Ihedioha and others.
