ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has extended warm felicitations to His Eminence, Francis Cardinal Arinze, on the occasion of his 93rd birthday, describing him as “a shining example of faith, humility, discipline, and service to God and humanity.”
In a statement released on Saturday on his X handle, Obi celebrated the revered Catholic cleric for his lifelong devotion to the Church and his moral influence across the world.
“From your pastoral beginnings in Onitsha to your global apostolate as Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments, you have inspired generations with your devotion to God, to the Church, and to the moral upliftment of society,” Obi said.
He prayed for continued health and strength for the nonagenarian, noting that Cardinal Arinze “exemplifies true leadership and spiritual guidance.”
“May God continue to grant you good health and strength as you remain a beacon of light to millions,” Obi added.
Cardinal Arinze, one of Nigeria’s most prominent Catholic figures, served for decades at the Vatican and remains a symbol of moral integrity and spiritual dedication in both Nigeria and the global Church.
