ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Labour Party presidential candidate in the February 25, 2025 general election, Peter Obi has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Doyin Okupe over the passing of their father, assuring them that he will stand by them during this difficult time of grief.
Precise Post recalls that Obi, who announced the news of the visit on his X account handle, said he was at the residence of the bereaved family on Friday evening to offer his heartfelt condolences.
During the visit, the former Anambra state Governor said while no one can question God’s will, we must continue to support and stand by one another, especially in time of grief.
He prayed Almighty God to grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, and for the soul of Dr. Doyin Okupe to rest in perfect peace.
Earlier before his visit, Obi who took to his X account to send a condolence message, urged members of the Obidient Movement and other groups to pray for the eternal repose of Dr. Okupe’s soul and to remember his family during these trying times.
The condolence visit reads in full:
“With great sadness this morning, I received the shocking news of the death of my dear elder brother, Dr. Doyin Okupe. On behalf of the family and the Obidient family, I sincerely mourn his passing.”
“Dr. Okupe was an active figure in the nation’s political space and a man who desired a better Nigeria.”
“His death is a profound loss – not only to his family and loved ones but to all of us.”
“I would therefore like to urge members of the Obidient Movement and other groups to pray for the eternal repose of Dr. Okupe’s soul and to remember his family during these trying times.”
“May God Almighty, who called him home, grant him eternal rest and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear this sad and irreplaceable loss.”
