OYO (PRECISE POST) – Fresh signs of political uncertainty have surfaced in Oyo State following the resignation of Rasak Gbadegesin from the Oyo State Advisory Council, a move that has sparked speculation over possible cracks within Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Gbadegesin announced his resignation from the advisory council but stated that he remains a member of the PDP “for now,” a remark that has fueled speculation about his political future and potential realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Although he did not disclose the reasons for stepping down, political observers believe the development may reflect growing internal disagreements within the state’s ruling party.
His decision to retain his PDP membership, while leaving open the possibility of a future exit, has further heightened expectations that additional resignations or defections could occur if the party fails to resolve its internal issues.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Oyo State Government nor the leadership of the PDP in the state had issued an official statement on Gbadegesin’s resignation.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
