Abuja, Nigeria – Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has openly declared himself a “proud agent” of President Bola Tinubu, pledging full support for the administration’s sweeping economic and governance reforms.
Speaking at the flag-off of the Northern Parkway construction linking Ring Road II to Ring Road III in Abuja, Wike said Tinubu inherited a nation “battered by years of bad governance” but remains determined to rebuild it.
“Give support to those committed to progress. President Tinubu is doing well and focused on lifting Nigeria to the level it deserves,” Wike stated.
Patience for Reforms
Acknowledging widespread public frustration over rising costs and tough economic measures, Wike urged Nigerians to stay the course.
“When you’re coming from a difficult period, it feels like you need a miracle. I understand the impatience, but I appeal for continued patience. You will see how things turn around,” he assured.
Proud to Serve
The former Rivers State governor emphasized that he and other top officials are actively driving Tinubu’s agenda:
“Mr. President is working through his agents like us. We are agents of Mr. President—and very proud agents indeed.”
Wike’s remarks come as Tinubu’s government presses ahead with bold policy shifts, including the removal of fuel subsidies and a unified exchange rate, moves aimed at stabilizing Africa’s largest economy despite initial hardships for citizens.
