Abuja (Precise Post) – The House of representatives committee on sports has directed the Nigerian Football Federation NFF to make available to the committee it’s monthly account details for the benefit of transparency and accountability.
Chairman of the committee HON Olumide Osoba gave the directive during a meeting with the leadership of the nation’s apex football body at the committee’s room in abuja.
The chairman explained that it became necessary to request for the account details in order to enable Nigerians know that the House is committed to ensuring accountability in sports administration in Nigeria.
Honorable Osoba also said that the meeting was informed by the nations recent poor performance in major age grades competitions adding that henceforth, the committee would observe and monitor all elections to be conducted by the Nigerian football federation.
Speaking on the nations preparation for the 2022 world cup, the committee informed the leadership of the Nigerian football federation that Nigerians would not accept anything short of qualification for the world cup.
In his remarks, the president of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick who was in company of the federation’s secretary assured the house that the football body would make available the necessary bank details requested by the committee while also assuring that the NFF would continue to work closely with the house in order to ensure the success of Nigeria in all future competitions.
