Abuja (Precise Post) – The general body of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Selected football team have shown their appreciation to Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) after a rewarding partnership before the Super Eagles encounter with Central African Republic on Thursday.
SWAN Selected, as it’s their culture before every National team game usually play friendly games, engaged Authentic NFASSC in a medal, trophy and prize winning match on Tuesday 5th October, 2021 which the Authentic side won 2-0.
After the game, medals were awarded to both sides, trophies for the runner up and winner in a glamorous post match ceremony as well as cash prizes for both teams.
SWAN Selected received Two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) for being the runners up, while the winners of the friendly, ANFASSC got three hundred thousand naira (N300,000).
Speaking after the Super Eagles game, General Manager of SWAN Selected, Andrew Randa confirmed receipt of the runner-up’s prize money, as he also praised the management of ANFASSC for their credibility.
“I can confirm receipt of the payment of the prize money by Aunthentic management to Swan Selected,” he said. “Despite losing the game on Tuesday, Authentic have fulfilled their obligation and we are happy about it. This has shown that they are a credible outfit with integrity,” he continued.
“This partnership that we hope to take to the next level is one that will be beneficial to both parties and create harmony between two critical stakeholders of football in Nigeria,” he added.
With this International window nearing its end, SWAN Selected have now set sights on the next window in November as plans are already underway for what is to come.
