ABUJA(PRECISE POST) – The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu has bade an emotional farewell to members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps, congratulating them on the successful completion of their national service.
The DG urged them to uphold the values of patriotism, integrity and self-reliance as they begin a new chapter of their lives.
The NYSC boss, in a farewell message to the outgoing corps members released on the Commission’s official X handle on Thursday, commended their courage, resilience, selfless service and commitment to national development, noting that their contributions to their host communities had left lasting impressions.
The Director-General said the corps members had demonstrated the true spirit of service through their dedication to the ideals of the country, adding that their patriotism and sacrifices had inspired hope and provided positive examples for other young Nigerians.
According to him, the projects initiated by the outgoing corps members and the lives they touched during their service year would remain part of the nation’s development story.
He expressed confidence that their contributions would inspire future generations, stressing that the impact of their service extended beyond the completion of their mandatory national assignment.
As they prepare to navigate life after the NYSC programme, the Director-General urged the corps members to maximise the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills acquired through the scheme’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
He encouraged them to become innovators, job creators and agents of positive change rather than limit their aspirations to seeking paid employment.
The NYSC chief further charged the outgoing corps members to allow the scheme’s core values of patriotism, integrity, efficiency, commitment, teamwork and self-reliance to guide their decisions and conduct in their personal and professional lives.
He emphasised the need for them to embrace leadership wherever they find themselves and contribute meaningfully to national unity, progress and development.
The Director-General also urged the corps members to remain steadfast in the face of challenges, pursue their aspirations with determination and use the experience gained during their service year as a foundation for future achievements.
Wishing them success and fulfilment in their post-service lives, he expressed optimism that they would continue to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the country at large.
In an emotional closing message, the NYSC boss reiterated his affection for the outgoing corps members, congratulating them once again on their achievement and wishing them well in their future endeavours.
“Nigeria is ours, Nigeria we serve,” he declared, before adding, “Once again, congratulations and best wishes! I love you all!”
