ABUJA (PRECISE POST) — The prolonged leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has effectively come to an end following a Court of Appeal ruling dismissing an appeal filed by the Taminu Turaki group, according to the party’s 2027 Abia governorship candidate, Dr. Kelechi Anosike.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, at Wadata Plaza in Abuja, Anosike described the appellate court’s decision as a major victory that has removed uncertainty surrounding the party’s leadership and strengthened its prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ruling is timely and decisive. For those who were concerned about the matter, it is now obvious that there is nothing to worry about, as the leadership of our great party is not in doubt,” Anosike said.
He noted that the judgment had settled lingering disputes within the party and provided a solid foundation for unity and electoral success.
Anosike also commended the Abdulrahman-led National Working Committee (NWC) for successfully conducting what he described as peaceful and rancour-free primary elections across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The governorship candidate congratulated the National Chairman, the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and other members of the NWC on the court victory, describing it as a significant milestone for the opposition party.
“I am here at Wadata Plaza to congratulate our National Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman; the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and indeed the entire NWC and PDP family over the Court of Appeal ruling delivered today,” he stated.
Calling for reconciliation within the party, Anosike urged aspirants who were unsuccessful in the primaries to set aside their grievances and work with victorious candidates in the interest of the party.
He appealed to aggrieved members to embrace the olive branch extended by the leadership and unite behind the party’s candidates to ensure victory at the polls.
“Those who did not emerge victorious in the primaries should accept the olive branch being extended to them and work together with the successful candidates to ensure victory for the party at the 2027 polls,” he said.
Expressing optimism about the PDP’s chances in the next general election, Anosike said the party was now better positioned to reclaim power and provide effective governance for Nigerians.
He urged party faithful across the country to remain focused on strengthening the PDP and mobilising support ahead of the 2027 elections.
