ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., GCON, has felicitated the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa‘ad Abubakar III, as he marks 20 years as the 20th Sultan.
Speaker Abbas, in a congratulatory message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, said the Sultan’s two decades on the throne has been remarkable and significantly purposeful.
The Speaker also said the Sultan, who doubles as a religious and traditional ruler, has been a major factor in the ethno-religious unity in Nigeria, adding that his leadership of various councils of traditional rulers and Islam has further engendered stability in the country.
While noting that the Sultan’s wise counsels have continued to guide the ruling class and political elite, Speaker Abbas said he remains one of the elder statesmen whose leadership inspires many.
The Speaker prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant the Sultan longevity, a sound body, and wisdom to continue to add value to the nation.
Speaker Abbas wishes the Sultan a happy 20th coronation anniversary.
