Amotekun Arrests 35-Year-Old Man For Stealing 100 Motorcycles In Ondo

Akure, – Operatives of Amotekun Corps in Ondo State have nabbed a 35-year-old man, Olamide Wasiu, for stealing over 100 motorcycles in the last three months across the state. Mr Adetunji Adeleye, State Commander of Amotekun, made this known while parading the suspect alongside six others before newsmen on Monday in Akure. Adeleye said others were arrested for various criminal offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, illegal possession of firearms, stealing, among others. FRSC arrests 113 traffic offenders in Bauchi

FRSC arrested 113 traffic offenders in Bauchi State in the last one week. Its Sector Commander in the state, Yusuf Abdullahi, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi on Thursday that 52 of the offenders failed to install Speed Limiting Device in their commercial vehicles. A lot of crashes in the state are blameable on the refusal to install the device, he said. “Since the beginning of Operation Zero which began on Dec. 17, we have arrested 113 traffic offenders and our mobile court has prosecuted particularly those who did not install the device. “The purpose of setting up the mobile court is to curtail speed because the number of crashes we have in the state is too high. “We focused on the installation of speed limiting devices to curtail crashes and that is why the arrest for non-installation of the device is high,’’ he said. Eight people were killed and 15 others sustained varying degrees of injury on Wednesday in two different crashes in Ogun State. An early morning accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway reportedly claimed the lives of five people, who were burnt to death. The accident, which involved a petrol tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit and a truck, occurred around the Tunji Alegi Filling Station in the Kwakyama area of Ogere and a truck. Our correspondent gathered that five vehicles that were parked along the road were also consumed by the inferno. Amotekun Arrests Suspected Teenage Kidnapper, Serial R*pist In Ondo

Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps have apprehended a 19-year-old suspected kidnapper and serial r*pist in the state. The suspect, Ibrahim Sanni, alongside three of his gang members now at large were alleged to have r*ped and abducted a teenage girl. Sanni was also accused of taking part in a series of abductions with ransom collected. Speaking on his arrest, the Corps Commander in the State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye disclosed that before his arrest, Sanni and his gang had gang-r*ped a young girl in the state, after which they kidnapped her. According to Adeleye, the arrest of the suspect was made possible with the aid of the Hausa community in the Shasha area of Akure, the state capital, following a man-hunt for his group. “This suspect is highly notorious. There was palpable tension as thugs were allegedly hired by students of Community High School, Ijoun, in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Monday, to attack and send their teachers away from the school. The Oyo State Security Network Agency has arrested eleven bandits, all Bororo Fulani herdsmen terrorizing residents of the state. Police spokesman in Ekiti State, ASP Sunday Abutu, told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday that the traditional ruler was released in a forest in Kwara after six days in captivity. “I can confirm that the ruler has been released from captivity. He has also been reunited with his family. “He is receiving medical attention in one of the facilities in the state as a result of the trauma he went through,’’ Abutu said.
