“To those in business, finance, and beyond who remain committed to credible climate action, despite all the pressures, I say: You are on the right side of history. Keep it up,” Guterres remarked, acknowledging the significant challenges facing organizations striving to integrate sustainability into their operations.
However, Guterres also emphasized the crucial role that governments must play in supporting these efforts. He called on policymakers to offer the stability and clarity needed for businesses to make long-term investments in green technologies. “To governments, I say: Get behind them. Provide the policy and regulatory certainty business needs,” he urged.
