ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The campaign organisation of Senator Danjuma Tella La’ah, governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kaduna State, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the Supreme Court has nullified his governorship ticket.
In a statement signed by the Media Team/Communications Directorate of the campaign organisation, the group said no Certified True Copy (CTC) of any Supreme Court judgment purportedly voiding La’ah’s candidacy had been served on its legal team or made available through any official channel.
The campaign described the claim as unverified, urging members of the public, party supporters and the media to exercise restraint and avoid relying on social media publications presented as judicial decisions.
It said: “A judgment of a court should be treated with the seriousness it deserves, and its existence and contents should be established through the appropriate legal and official channels.”
According to the statement, the campaign’s legal director is in contact with its counsel and closely monitoring developments relating to the matter.
It added that should any authentic judicial process or judgment requiring clarification come to its attention, the legal team would review it and issue an appropriate statement based on the facts and applicable law.
The organisation urged supporters not to be distracted by what it described as speculation, rumours or attempts to create tension within its ranks.
It said Senator La’ah remained focused on his political engagements and continued to interact with stakeholders and supporters across Kaduna State.
The campaign also called on NDC leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Solomon Bala Garkuwa, whose name was reportedly mentioned in connection with the circulating claims, to remain calm and focused.
“There is no basis for anyone to use an unverified social media claim as a reason to create confusion or encourage political movement away from the NDC,” the statement said.
The organisation stressed that the 2027 political process should be guided by facts, due process and respect for the law, urging political actors and members of the public to rely on official court records rather than rumours circulating online.
It further appealed to supporters of Senator La’ah to remain peaceful and disciplined, warning them against engaging in arguments, threats or personal attacks on social media or circulating unverified documents.
The campaign organisation reaffirmed its commitment to “service to humanity, unity, peace and a better future for Kaduna State”, saying it would continue to communicate directly whenever verified information required public clarification.
It therefore urged the public to disregard, for now, the alleged Supreme Court judgment voiding Senator La’ah’s candidacy and await official communication from the appropriate legal or party authorities.
