JALINGO (PRECISE POST) – A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State and governorship aspirant in the 2023 general elections Chief David Sabo Kente has called on Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas to intensify efforts to bring good governance and ameliorate the intense hardship the people are going through.
Kente made the call in a statement he personally signed to mark felicitate with the people on the occasion of Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration.
The former representative of Taraba State at the North East Development Corporation NEDC, saluted the people’s resilience and understanding and urge them to be more patient and pray for the governor so that he will be able to deliver on his campaign promises.
The statement reads in parts “as we join the rest of Nigerians on this significant occasion of June 12, 2025, to commemorate Democracy Day, I, Chief Dr. David Sabo Kente, extends my heartfelt felicitations to the Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas, the resilient and industrious citizens of Taraba State and Nigerians at large.
“June 12 is not merely a date; it is a symbol of our collective resolve to uphold the principles of freedom, justice, and equality that defines our democratic journey. It stands as a defining chapter in our national consciousness, a day that symbolizes the triumph of the people’s will over dictatorship. In Taraba State, democracy has been a beacon of hope, fostering unity amidst our rich diversity, providing a platform for the voices of every citizen to be heard.
“As a citizen of Taraba, I urge the government of Dr. Agbu Kefas to intensify efforts to deliver good governance to the people of the State. Our citizens are yearning for tangible development, improved infrastructure, and accessible social amenities. The promises made must translate into actions to alleviate the hardships faced by our people. Let us work together to restore hope and build a prosperous Taraba.
To the governor of our dear state, seize the opportunity of the remaining two years of your tenure in office to undertake actions that will rebuild trust from Tarabans who voted for you. It is my belief that His Excellency will give listening ears to the aspirations of the people of the state as it is said that he who much is given much is equally expected.
“I urge every Taraban to reflect on the immense benefits democracy has brought to our state and nation. The right to vote, the freedom to express our views, and the opportunity to hold our leaders accountable are privileges we must cherish and protect.
To the good people of Taraba, I implore you to protect democracy in our State jealously. I urge you to be patient with the Governor. This is not saying we should not express our dissatisfactions. However, we must be objective and constructive in our criticisms”.
