Tinubu appoints Board of Security and Exchange Commission, announces Mairiga Katuka as chairman

ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu has announced Mr. Mairiga Aliyu Katuka as the Chairman of the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The appointment and approval of the new Board members of SEC were contained in a statement released on Friday signed by the Special Adviser to the President, (Media & Publicity) Chief Ajuri Ngelale.

According to Ngelale, other Nigerian professional appointed to serve on Board level of the Commission are:

(1) Mr. Emomotimi Agama — Director-General

(2) Frana Chukwuogor — Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement)

(3) Mr. Bola Ajomale — Executive Commissioner (Operations)

(4) Mrs. Samiya Hassan Usman — Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services)

(5) Mr. Lekan Belo — Non-Executive Commissioner

(6) Mr. Kasimu Garba Kurfi — Non-Executive Commissioner

The President anticipates that all members of the Board of this critical commission will bring to bear their wealth of experience and competence in advancing the commission’s core mandate of developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient to bolster investor confidence and contribute immeasurably to the nation’s economic development, Ngelale added.
