ABUJA (PRECISE POST)   — President Bola Tinubu has announced a major economic milestone, revealing that Nigeria’s 2025 revenue target was already achieved in August, four months ahead of schedule.

The President credited sweeping economic reforms and an aggressive push to diversify revenue away from oil dependence as key factors in this success, the statement released by the Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga on his X handle on Tuesday said.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa during a meeting with founding members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and The Buhari Organisation, President Tinubu declared that Nigeria’s economy is now “stabilised” and “predictable.”

“No one is trading paper for foreign exchange anymore,” Tinubu said. “You don’t need to know the CBN Governor to get forex or import goods. We’ve brought sanity to the system.”

According to Tinubu, the bulk of this record-breaking revenue came from the non-oil sector — a sharp departure from Nigeria’s long-standing reliance on crude exports. He underscored the government’s commitment to job creation, boosting exports, and driving food sovereignty through regional mechanised agriculture hubs.

In a nod to his political roots, Tinubu described the journey from CPC to the ruling APC as “a sweet memory” and thanked members for their loyalty. He reaffirmed plans to immortalise former President Muhammadu Buhari with the establishment of a “Buhari House” and promised greater inclusion of CPC veterans in governance.

The President pledged that his Renewed Hope Agenda remains focused on critical infrastructure, health, security, and agriculture, with concrete plans to establish training centres nationwide to boost food production.

Former Nasarawa State Governor and CPC stalwart Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who led the delegation, praised Tinubu’s leadership and expressed unwavering support for the administration heading into the 2027 elections.

“We believe in your administration,” Al-Makura said. “Our loyalty is firm, and we are committed to your success and re-election.”

House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas also commended Tinubu’s vision, particularly his inclusive approach to national leadership and state affairs.

As the government touts early signs of economic recovery and stability, the President’s camp is already rallying political forces for future victories — with the economy now a central pillar of his 2027 pitch.
