UNFPA, Norwegian Govt Commend Governor Inuwa’s Human Capital Development Initiative (Photos)

Gombe (Precise Post) – The United Nations Population Fund ( UNFPA), and the Norwegian Government have commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his human capital development initiatives in Gombe state.

The visiting Deputy Representative of United Nations Population Fund ( UNFPA), Erika Godson. and the Norwegian Government’s First Secretary, Mari Lundeby, who gave the commendation during a review meeting held on Saturday in the office of the governor, assured His Excellency of their willingness to scale up their activities in Gombe state as well as explore other areas of collaboration outside the health sector.

The statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), to the governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli to Precise Post said that the discussions centred around strengthening partnership and collaboration between Gombe state Government and development bodies in tackling maternal mortality, girl-child education and other development challenges.

Earlier, the delegation had undertaken a tour of some healthcare facilities and educational institutions to assess the level of ongoing implementation of reproductive health programmes in the state.

The team had also paid a courtesy visit on the Governor at the Government House Exco Chamber on Thursday after their assessment tour in the state, the statement added.
