ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The United States has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of an ongoing defence and security partnership between both countries, the Presidency said.
The delivery was made by a United States Air Force C-17 aircraft last weekend, according to the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).
The development was disclosed by the Special Adviser (Information & Strategy) to the President, Bayo Onanuga in a post on his X handle on Thursday, citing AFRICOM.
AFRICOM described the delivery as a demonstration of the growing security partnership between the United States and Nigeria, particularly in efforts to counter terrorism and other security threats in the region.
“Partnership in action,” AFRICOM said, adding that the equipment was supplied under a Foreign Military Sales agreement designed to further strengthen the defence partnership between the two countries.
The latest delivery comes amid increased security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States as both countries seek to enhance their capabilities in tackling terrorism and other transnational security threats.
