The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) president, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has praised the Board of Nigeria Premier league towards efforts made to see that the league is taking to the height it is desired, while still urging for more improvement.
In his speech during the first ever interactive maiden retreat of NPFL board and staffs head in Abuja. The president said he hopes the retreat will be a continuous process and not a one stop thing. While emphasising on plans to bring in VAR to the league.
“We are here to change the narratives on the negatives way the league is portrayed.
We will let them know our mission. Because most of the problems are from the clubs. So yearly you will see changes. We will analyse our work and see where we are lacking and where needs improvement.
There are plans to bring in VAR but it is a gradual process, the referees have to show the interest, then we will support them, already plans are on ground for about ten referees that will go for 2-3 weeks training in Morocco to learn and train on how to use VAR.
So very soon we will see how we are going to use VAR in Nigeria.
In same vain the chairman of Npfl hon Gbenga Elegbeleye has asked for continuous support of the board to afford the board and staffs the level playing ground to give us a better and improved league and also build more bond between both parties.
While they continue to review their performances and build on the strength, he equally thanked all the clubs for their cooperation.
