ABUJA FCT – A Legal Practitioner, Daniel Bwala has condemned the conduct exhibited by the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye when she appeared before the Honourable members of the House of Representatives, describing it as shameful and regrettable.
Bwala who reminded Kennedy-Ohanenye that a minister of the Republic of Nigeria is a respectable and responsible position that must be protected with dignity and decorum, disclosed this on his X account while reacting to the video of the altercation of the minister with members of the House of Representatives at a public hearing.
He therefore urged the Minister to display the highest form of decorum, even in the face of allegation, knowing that a legislative hearing is a process that must bring an outcome.Adding that those who represent President Bola Tinubu must do so with dignity, decorum and respect.
Precise Post recalls that there is a video making rounds on social media showing how Uju Kennedy- Ohanenye engaged in exchange of words with Reps members over corruption allegation involving his ministry.
Recall that the House Committee chairman, Kafilat Ogbara is investigating an alleged diversion of N1.5 billion earmarked for the payment of contractors in the women affairs ministry.
The committee had summoned the minister over allegations in her ministry after some contractors petitioned the committee, alleging non-payment for contracts they had executed for the ministry.
