UYO (PRECISE POST) – Akwa Ibom state Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has greeted the good people of the state on the occasion of the Christmas day celebration, adding that as we look toward the New Year (2025), he remains committed to food security, rural development, better infrastructure, quality education, and maintaining the peace we all enjoy in Akwa Ibom through the ARISE Agenda.

Disclosing this in his christmas message on Wednesday released via his verified X account @_PastorUmoEno, the Governor said:

Merry Christmas, Akwa Ibomites!

“Today, I join millions of Christians around the world to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. This season is a time for love, giving, and unity, and I encourage all of us to look out for the vulnerable and inspire hope in others.

“Over the past 18 months, your prayers and support have strengthened my administration as we work to grow our state. Together, we’ve achieved so much, and as we look toward the New Year, I remain committed to food security, rural development, better infrastructure, quality education, and maintaining the peace we all enjoy in Akwa Ibom through the ARISE Agenda.

“To spread Christmas cheer, my administration has distributed 20 bags of rice to each of our 2,272 gazetted villages. I encourage stakeholders to join in this effort and support their communities. We’ve also paid the 13th-month salary, and work on the verification exercise for public service employees is ongoing so we can begin implementing the N80,000 minimum wage.

“Let’s continue to cherish our unity, peace, and love as a people. This is who we are—industrious, creative, and God-fearing. I am proud of the cultural renaissance happening at the Christmas Village, which showcases the spirit of Akwa Ibom at its best.

“As we celebrate, I pray this spirit of unity leads us safely into a prosperous New Year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance!
