Abuja – Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has recanted saying that Col Sambo Dasuki is not a traitor and never worked against the Jonathan election bid in 2015 and that he served President Jonathan as NSA diligently.

Precise Post recalls that in reaction to the confession of the former governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu about how the then PDP northern governors agreed to work against former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, Fani-Kayode yesterday tweeted that it’s now left for Muazu Adamu and Col Sambo Dasuki to explain their own roles.

However, in a counter tweet today, FFK claimed that a member of his social media team had yesterday, in error and without his authorisation, tweeted an allegation about those that betrayed Goodluck Ebele Jonathan during the 2015 election with his handle. He stated that Col. Sambo Dasuki was one of the names mentioned without his authorisation and in error.

Fani-Kayode who reminded that Col. Dasuki was a faithful and loyal member of the Jonathan administration also recalled how, for the 4 years that he (Dasuki) was in detention, he spoke up for him more than anyone else. Adding that it was unfortunate and unacceptable for his name to be on that list. The former minister of Aviation said he has not only queried the staff that tweeted it but has also suspended him from his employment.

He reminded that the Dasukis and the Fani-Kayode’s have a long-standing relationship which predates this generation and regrets any embarrassment that the error may have caused him or his loved ones. Femi said that the offending tweet has been removed.

The tweets read:

“Yesterday a member of my social media team tweeted an allegation about those that betrayed @GEJonathan during the 2015 election with my handle. Col. Sambo Dasuki was one of the names mentioned. This was done without my authorisation and in error.

Col. Dasuki was a faithful and loyal member of the Jonathan administration for the 4 years that he was in detention I spoke up for him more than anyone else. It was unfortunate and unacceptable for his name to be on that list and I have not only queried the individual that tweeted it but also suspended him from my employment.

Apart from the fact that Col. Sambo Dasuki remains a dear friend and brother, the Dasukis and the Fani-Kayode’s have a long-standing relationship which predates this generation. For example Col. Dasuki’s father, the late Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki, was very close to mine.

Sambo Dasuki is not a traitor, he never worked against the Jonathan election bid in 2015 and he served President Jonathan as NSA diligently, faithfully and loyally. I regret any embarrassment that this error may have caused him or his loved ones. The offending tweet has been removed.
