A statement by the acting director defence information, Brigadier general Onyema Nwachukwu made this known. Before this appointment, Yahaya was the General officer commanding Division 1 of the Nigerian Army. He is the present theater commander counter terrorism center. He is the 22nd chief of army staff. We Suffered 41 Attacks On Our Facilities, Offices In 14 States – INEC Reveals

The Nation reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Thursday, gave a breakdown of attacks on its facilities and offices across the country. Analysis of incidents released by the Commission showed it suffered 41 attacks in 14 states. A further breakdown of the attacks, revealed as follows, “one bandit attack, one Boko Haram attack, 18 #EndSARS attacks, four post-election violence, six incidents as a result of elections thuggery and 11 attacks by unknown gunmen and hoodlums. “18 were cases of arson, 20 cases of vandalization, three cases of arson and vandalization.” Source

Gov Sule hails outgoing LG Chairmen, directs them to handover to respective DPMs

Engineer Sule hosted the outgoing council and development areas officials, to a farewell meeting, at the Government House, on Thursday. The governor while appreciating the outgoing officials for supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as his administration, directed them to hand over to their respective Director of Personnel Management, pending the constitution of a Transition Management Committee (TMC) to man the councils. Engineer Sule specifically thanked the outgoing council officials, for supporting his administration in the areas of security and governance, particularly in youth and women empowerment and their support towards curtailing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. How Police nabbed nine suspected cultists during Supremacy Battle In Ogun

By Our Reporter Abuja (Precise Post) – Nine suspected cultists have been arrested during what the police say was a supremacy battle in the Ajegunle area of Ibogun, Ogun State. The clash was between members of the Eiye and Alaro confraternities, according to the Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi. “While the clash was going on, a distress call was made to the Police Divisional Headquarters in Ibogun, and the DPO, CSP Samuel Oladele, quickly led his men to the scene,” a statement by the Oyeyemi read in part. “On sighting policemen, the cultists, who had already inflicted serious injuries on the chest of one member of Alora group, ran away with their injured colleagues, while police successfully apprehended the nine suspects.” Those arrested are Sodiq Olabisi, Oluwatosin Andrew, Oladimeji Oyedele, Wasiu Raheem, Oyedokun Lekan, Yusuf Ajetunmobi, Busari Taoreed, Bolaji Raphael and Salami Toheeb.
