2027 Election: Kwankwaso Storms Port Harcourt, Meets Northern, Hausa Leaders

ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Thursday arrived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he received a warm welcome from Kwankwasiyya and Obidient supporters.
Kwankwaso disclosed this in a statement posted on his official X handle on Thursday, saying his arrival in the Rivers State capital was marked by “pomp and pageantry” from enthusiastic supporters.
He said as part of his engagements in the state, he held a high-level meeting with members of Northern communities resident in Rivers State.
The meeting was attended by Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, the NDC governorship candidate in Rivers State, as well as NDC leaders from various local government areas across the state.
Kwankwaso also disclosed that he separately met with Hausa traditional leaders in Rivers State, led by Alhaji Ussaini Isa Madaki, leader of the Hausa community in the state.
The former Kano State governor said he was looking forward to a “fruitful and productive stay” in Port Harcourt, popularly known as the Garden City.
“I arrived in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, today (3/09/2026) to a warm reception of pomp and pageantry from our ardent Kwankwasiyya and Obidient supporters,” Kwankwaso said.
He added: “As part of our engagements, I hosted a high-level meeting with Northern communities residing in Rivers State, alongside Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, the NDC Governorship Candidate, and NDC leaders from various Local Government Areas across the state.
“I also held a separate meeting with the Hausa traditional leaders in Rivers State, led by Alhaji Ussaini Isa Madaki, Leader of the Hausa Community.
“I look forward to a fruitful and productive stay in the Garden City.”
Precise Post recalls that the visit is part of the NDC’s political engagements as the party continues preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
