KANO – Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has inaugurated a high-powered 17-member committee tasked with drafting a comprehensive campaign blueprint for his 2027 second-term bid.
This is contained in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Friday in Kano.
He said that the committee is mandated to review the implementation of the 2023 blueprint titled “My Commitment for Kano”.
It will also produce “Blueprint 2.0” to guide the administration’s policy direction for a second term.
According to him, the committee will work under the supervision of the governor and his Deputy, Alhaji Murtala Garo.
Dr Aminu Garba will serve as chairman, while Dr Yusuf Gambo, Executive Chairman, Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination, will serve as the secretary to the committee.
Other members of the committee include Dr Ibrahim Musa, Special Adviser on Health Services; Haladu Muhammad, Technical Adviser on Education Reform; and Dawakin-Tofa, Director-General, Media and Publicity.
Muhammad Halliru, Director-General, Kano State Investment Promotion Agency, Nana Jibrin, Director-General, Research and Documentation, Dr Bashir Abdu Muzakkar and Director-General, Kano State Information Technology Development Agency.
The committee also comprised Dr Farouk Kurawa, Managing Director, Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority, Kabiru Yakubu, Managing Director, Kano Agricultural Supply Company and Dr Abdulhadi Chula, Executive Chairman, Ajingi Local Government Council.
Yesmin Mukhtar, Senior Special Assistant on Women Education; Dr. Halima Sani of Bayero University; Dr. Kabiru Shehu; Barr. Musa Lawan Abdullahi, Dr Nasiru Kabo and Dr Kabiru Getso.
The committee is to identify areas of the 2023 blueprint yet to be fully implemented and incorporate them into Blueprint 2.0.
It will also articulate Yusuf’s long-term developmental priorities and strategic vision spanning from 2027 to 2031
The committee will further engage stakeholders from state and non-state sectors to generate innovative ideas and policy recommendations for a comprehensive, inclusive and people-driven blueprint.
This is aimed at consolidating the gains of the present administration and accelerating Kano State’s development. (NAN)
