ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, and the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have led a high-level strategy meeting with the party’s governorship candidates from Bauchi, Sokoto and Borno states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Monday at Kwankwaso’s residence in Maitama, Abuja, brought together key NDC leaders and candidates to review the party’s preparations and develop strategies aimed at securing victory across the affected states.
The governorship candidates in attendance were Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim of Bauchi State, Dr. Shamsu Aliyu of Sokoto State and Admiral Sunusi Sir Kashim Ibrahim (Rtd.) of Borno State.
Also at the meeting were Engr. Buba Galadima, NDC State Chairman of Kebbi State, Alhaji Mustapha Umar, and his Sokoto State counterpart, Alhaji Bello Sani Yabo, alongside other party leaders.
According to a statement released on the party’s X handle on Monday, the meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders to assess the party’s readiness for the forthcoming elections and deliberate on strategies for strengthening its electoral machinery.
The NDC leadership placed particular emphasis on coordinated campaigns and greater collaboration among the party’s national, state and local structures to maximise its chances at the polls.
The party said the discussions were focused on ensuring that its candidates and campaign structures worked in concert towards delivering victory for the NDC at every level.
The meeting is part of the party’s broader preparations for the 2027 elections as it seeks to consolidate its structures, strengthen coordination among its candidates and deepen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
