ABUJA (PRECISE POST) — Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has thrown his full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, dismissing fears that a growing wave of endorsements is fueled by anxiety over opposition coalitions.
Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly, the Abia-North lawmaker and former Senate Chief Whip boldly declared: “We don’t fear anybody. APC is the ruling party. We love Nigeria. That’s why we build industries, not just politics.”
Kalu, who chairs the Senate Committee on the South-East Development Commission, stressed that recent endorsements are not born out of panic but from genuine admiration for Tinubu’s transformative policies and bold leadership.
He defended the President’s economic reforms, including subsidy removal and exchange rate unification, saying they are painful but necessary. “This is the first President telling Nigerians: make money the right way or don’t make it at all,” Kalu said.
He also lauded Tinubu’s symbolic visit to the Vatican at the invitation of Pope Francis, calling it “a historic gesture Catholics will not forget in 2027.”
The senator revealed that the Southeast APC caucus had endorsed Tinubu “weeks before others,” citing a strategic meeting led by Governors Hope Uzodinma and Francis Nwifuru, along with Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
On his own 2027 plans, the former Abia Governor said his focus would shift toward agriculture, stressing his devotion to public service: “I don’t even keep a bank account. Everything I have goes into helping people.”
He urged politicians across party lines to prioritize truth, unity, and nation-building over political rivalry.
“Tinubu is not just a Southern President. He will win across North and South. Nigerians want stability, not division,” Kalu concluded.
