ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference 2026 is set to bring together legal practitioners and key stakeholders in the profession for an eight-day programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from August 21 to 28.
NBA President, Afam Osigwe, SAN, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Saturday, saying the conference, themed “Beyond Limits,” would provide a platform for professional discourse, institutional business, community engagement and leadership.
According to him, the conference would commence on August 21 with the Jumaat Service, while August 22 would feature a Health Walk, Tree Planting and Community Clean-Up, Pre-Conference National Executive Council meeting and Welcome Cocktail.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for August 23 alongside a Church Service and the opening of the Friendship Centre.
Osigwe said the core professional activities would take place from August 24 to 26, featuring showcases, plenary sessions and breakout sessions, as well as the football final, President’s Dinner and “UNBARRED” programme.
The conference would proceed to institutional business on August 27 with Sections’ Annual General Meetings and the NBA Annual General Meeting.
The final day, August 28, would feature the AGC Press Conference and Swearing-In Ceremony before participants depart.
The NBA President said the “Beyond Limits” theme would provide the framework for examining the role of the legal profession in a rapidly changing legal, economic and institutional environment.
He said the conference was expected to attract leaders and practitioners of the Nigerian legal profession, public institutions, business, academia and other stakeholders for substantive engagement and professional exchange.
The 2026 NBA Annual General Conference will hold at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt, from August 21 to 28.
