PRECISE POST –  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia is preparing a fresh large-scale attack on Ukraine, with energy infrastructure and logistics facilities expected to be the primary targets.

Zelenskyy who took to his x handle on Tuesday to disclose this, said Ukraine had received intelligence indicating that Moscow was planning another massive assault, expressing concern that the anticipated attack could coincide with the US midterm elections, potentially diverting international attention from the war.

According to him, Russia could exploit the world’s focus on the American elections, as well as Ukraine’s reported difficulties in securing adequate air defence systems, particularly Patriot missiles, to intensify its attacks.

The Ukrainian leader called on the international community, especially the United States, to send a strong message to Moscow that continued aggression and attacks on civilian infrastructure would not yield any strategic or economic benefits.

He also urged Washington and its allies to intensify economic pressure on Russia, particularly by targeting its oil and gas revenues, which he said remained a critical source of funding for the war.

“We must not play games with Russia’s oil or gas revenues,” Zelenskyy stressed, insisting that Moscow should face consequences that would make continuing the war economically unsustainable.

He further argued that Russia must be denied the opportunity to profit from international business while its military campaign against Ukraine continues.

Zelenskyy maintained that sustained pressure on Russia’s energy revenues, alongside stronger international support for Ukraine’s air defence capabilities, was necessary to compel Moscow to reconsider its military campaign and bring the war to an end.

He specifically urged the United States to take decisive action, saying Washington had the capacity to impose the kind of pressure that could force Russia towards ending the conflict.
