ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Delta State Government has constituted an eight-member Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Adeda Ekwevugbe, a Deputy Director in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
The state government announced the constitution of the panel in a statement posted on its official X handle on Friday.
According to the government, the panel was constituted in consultation with the Organised Labour and is expected to work alongside the ongoing police investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ekwevugbe’s death.
The panel has been given two weeks to conclude its assignment and submit its findings to the state government.
The government said the report would enable it to take appropriate action in accordance with the law, based on the findings of the inquiry.
It stressed that the administrative investigation would complement, rather than interfere with, the ongoing police investigation into the matter.
The state government also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, saying it shared in their grief at the loss.
It reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and welfare of civil servants across the state, as well as the protection of the dignity and sanctity of human life.
The government said the panel’s findings would guide the appropriate steps to be taken once the inquiry is concluded.
