ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – As teachers in Nigeria join their counterparts across the world to mark this year’s Teachers’ Day, the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare, professional growth and continuous development of teachers in the state.
Uzodimma made the commitment in a message marking the 2026 Teachers’ Day, where he described teachers as critical to building a society where citizens can thrive and development can be sustained across generations.
The governor said the foundation for societal progress was laid in the classroom, where teachers used knowledge, character and discipline to shape the minds and values of future generations.
“On this auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day, I, on behalf of the Government and the good people of Imo State, celebrate our teachers, whose dedication, sacrifice and commitment to shaping our future generations remain invaluable,” he said.
He acknowledged the sacrifices and contributions of teachers to the development of the state and the country, stressing that their role extended beyond classroom instruction to shaping the character and values of young people.
Uzodimma said his administration would continue to prioritise education and strengthen institutions supporting teachers across the state.
He added that the government would ensure that the dedication of teachers was matched with the recognition, dignity and support they deserved.
“As a Government, we remain committed to the welfare, professional growth, and continuous development of our teachers,” the governor said.
He assured teachers that his administration would sustain efforts to create an environment that would enable them to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
Uzodimma congratulated teachers in Imo State on the occasion, appreciating their contributions to shaping the future of the state.
“Happy Teachers’ Day to our esteemed teachers,” he said.
