IGP Disu approves fresh police postings, names new PPROs

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved fresh postings of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.

The postings, approved on Friday, are aimed at strengthening strategic communication, improving public access to credible police information and enhancing engagement between the police, the media and other stakeholders.

The Force spokesperson, CSP Ani Ineidu, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja.

Under the new arrangement, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been posted as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been assigned to Zone 11, Osogbo.

New officers posted to state commands, specialised units

The statement further announced the posting of DSP Orchia Adndongu to the Benue State Police Command. Members of the public can contact the officer on 07013495466 for police-related enquiries concerning the command.

DSP Imah Unwana Victor has been posted to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), with 08038281577 provided as the contact number.

Similarly, ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu has been assigned to the Police Academy (POLAC) and can be reached on 07064684936.

ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu has been posted to the Yobe State Police Command, with 08136394230 listed as his contact number.

The IGP also approved the posting of ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi as Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State. His contact number is 08130313033.

IGP charges officers on professionalism, timely information

According to the statement, Disu charged the newly posted officers to uphold professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in carrying out their responsibilities.

He also urged them to ensure the timely dissemination of verified information and sustain constructive engagement with journalists and members of the public.

The directive is expected to strengthen the flow of official information from police commands and formations while improving public understanding of police activities.

The Force urged journalists and members of the public to contact the designated officers for verified information and enquiries relating to police operations and activities within their respective areas of responsibility.

The statement reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to promoting transparency, effective public communication and constructive engagement as essential elements of people-centred policing.
