Abuja (Precise Post) – The President of African Development. Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina has hailed former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the ocassion of his 84th birthday.
Akinwumi who took to his twitter handle to shower encomiums to his former boss described him as a special man whose life is a great blessing to Nigeria, Africa and the world in general.
His tweet reads:
I congratulate former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, former President of Nigeria, my dearest Baba, on turning 84 years today. Happy Birthday! Your life is a great blessing to Nigeria, Africa and the world. You are special. May God bless you always. Loads of love, 💕Akin45.
Precise Post recalls that Dr Akinwumi served as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development under Obasanjo’s government.
Until his appointment as Minister in 2010, he was Vice President of Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
He was elected as the President of the African Development Bank in 2015 and re-elected for a second term in 2020. He is the first Nigerian to hold the post.
