Ogah said this in a statement issued in Abuja on WEdnesday.
Onyejeocha, the immediate past Minister of State for Labour and Employment, is seeking a mandamus order against the INEC.
Reports that Onyejeocha had, in the application filed by her solicitors, Legal Assent, sought the leave of court to be joined in the a suit no FHC/ABJ/CV/1308/2025.
Ogah had sought INEC to conclude criminal investigations and prosecute Onyejeocha for alleged forgery election results during the 2023 National Assembly Election in Isuikuwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Abia.
However, Onyejeocha in her application wanted to be joined on the proceeding on the grounds that the matter touched directly on her electoral contest and other related allegations.
But, Ogah’s legal team, Seasons Law Firm, led by Umeh Kalu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, objected to Onyejeocha’s application, contending that the case could be effectively determined without her being made a party.
Ogah said the statement that while delivering its ruling, the court dismissed the application, effectively upholding the position that the substantive dispute is between her and INEC.
He said Onyejeocha’s legal team said that it would study the ruling before deciding on possible next steps.
In his reaction, Kalu applauded the court’s judgment, stating that it was in accordance with the law and facts presented at the hearing. (NAN)
