ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The National Director-General of APC Volunteer, Sir Victor Walsh Oluwafemi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reaffirming Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election, describing the decision as a demonstration of confidence, continuity and strategic leadership.
Oluwafemi made the remarks in a statement personally signed at the weekend, saying the President’s decision would further strengthen public confidence in the administration’s commitment to economic reforms, institutional development and improved national security.
According to him, the Tinubu-Shettima partnership has remained resilient in steering the country through a period of significant national transformation despite inheriting complex economic and security challenges.
He said successful governments are built on trust, consistency and a shared vision, adding that the President’s decision reflects the administration’s determination to sustain its policy direction.
The APC Volunteer DG also congratulated President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and other security and intelligence agencies on the successful rescue of kidnapped children.
He described the operation as a major victory for the country and a source of renewed hope for affected families.
“The rescue of innocent children is not merely a security success. It is a restoration of hope and a reaffirmation that the Nigerian state remains committed to protecting the lives of its citizens,” he said.
Oluwafemi commended security personnel for what he described as their enormous sacrifices in defending the nation, while acknowledging that insecurity remains one of Nigeria’s biggest challenges.
He, however, noted that recent months have witnessed improved coordination among security agencies, intelligence-driven operations, successful rescue missions and sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks across the country.
According to him, the progress recorded should encourage greater investment in intelligence gathering, surveillance technology, border security, community engagement and improved welfare for members of the armed forces and other security agencies.
The APC Volunteer DG also expressed concern over what he described as attempts by some political actors to exploit security incidents for partisan gains.
He warned that terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes affect Nigerians irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity or religion and should not be turned into campaign tools.
“Every successful rescue operation should unite us as a people rather than divide us along political lines,” he said.
Oluwafemi urged political leaders, opinion moulders and public commentators to exercise restraint and patriotism in their public engagements, warning that irresponsible political narratives could undermine public confidence, embolden criminal elements and weaken national unity.
He further argued that Nigeria’s security progress remains under close scrutiny by investors, development partners, diplomatic missions and the international community, noting that successful security operations enhance the country’s global reputation and boost investor confidence.
“As a nation, we must support our security institutions while demanding continuous improvement.
Constructive criticism strengthens democracy, but reckless politicisation of security weakens national resolve. Nigeria’s security is a shared responsibility that must remain above partisan politics,” he said.
Oluwafemi reaffirmed the support of APC Volunteer for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as they continue implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also called on Nigerians to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies by providing credible intelligence and work collectively towards building a safer, stronger and more prosperous nation.
