Kano, – The Kano State House of Assembly on Monday urged the State Government to establish more primary schools across 11 communities in Ungoggo Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

This followed the adoption of a motion by Alhaji Aminu Sa’ad(APC-Ungoggo) at plenary presided over by Speaker, Alhaji Abdulazeez Garba-Gafasa.

Sa’ad said that there were few schools in the area, which could no longer accommodate increasing number of children.

“The existing schools in the areas are not enough. Therefore, there is the need for establishment of more schools so that more children can be enrolled.

”We want our children to be enrolled in schools so as to benefit from the state government’s free and compulsory primary to secondary education,” he said.

Sa’ad said that some of the pupils were being force to trek long distances to schools, adding that it would be helpful if  more schools were established in the communities.

He said such areas that needed interventions included Fulani settlements in the communities, adding that if schools were provided in the areas, parents would be encouraged to enroll their children.

Sa’ad listed the communities to include Sharifai-Kadage, Bachirawa Yamma, Tudun Rubudi, Zaura Kadage, Rummawa, Rijiyar Zaki-Arewa, Zangon Kaya, Karon Buzaye, Gandar, Ungwarafa and Daurawa.
Alhaji Yunusa Haruna-Kayyu(Gwarzo Constituency) also  presented a motion calling on government to rehabilitate two roads in Gwarzo LGAs of the state.

Haruna-Kayyu said that the deplorable condition of the roads was hampering food production and commercial activities in the area.(
