Atiku Mourns Dr Ojougboh, The Man Who Slumped As Soon As That 89th Minutes’ Penalty Was Awarded To South Africa Against Nigeria

ABUJA – The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has mourned the demise of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, describing him as a shining example of patriotism.

Precise Post recalls that Dr. Cairo slumped as soon as that 89th minutes’ penalty was awarded to South Africa against Nigeria during the AFCON semi-final match on Wednesday, and couldn’t be revived.

Atiku who took to his X account to send his condolences, said late Cairo’s dedication to Nigeria was unwavering, and his departure is a personal loss that leaves a void in his heart.

“As we mourn, let us remember the passion and zeal for Nigeria that defined his life”, Atiku added.

The full condolence message reads:

‘The sudden passing of my close friend, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, deeply saddens me. His love for our country was profound. Cairo was a shining example of patriotism; his dedication to Nigeria was unwavering, and his departure is a personal loss that leaves a void in my heart. As we mourn, let us remember the passion and zeal for Nigeria that defined his life. May his soul rest in perfect peace”. -AA

Precise Post further recalls that Dr. Cairo was a trained medical doctor, and former member House of Representatives, who also served as the Acting Executive Director (projects) Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
