ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress(ADC) Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sadness over the death of celebrated Nollywood actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as “Ogogo.”
Atiku, in a condolence message posted on his X account on Sunday, described the actor’s death as particularly painful, coming only days after the public became aware of his battle with cancer.
He said Hassan was more than a gifted actor, noting that through his remarkable career, the late thespian brought laughter into countless homes while using his talent to tell stories that reflected society.
According to Atiku, Hassan’s contributions to the Nigerian creative industry went beyond entertainment, as he also used his craft to educate audiences, inspire social rebirth and promote meaningful reflection on societal issues.
“His passing leaves a painful void in Nigeria’s creative community and in the hearts of the millions who cherished his work,” Atiku said.
The former vice president extended his condolences to Hassan’s family, colleagues and admirers in Nigeria and across the world, urging them to find solace in the legacy he left behind.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the actor’s shortcomings, comfort his loved ones and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
“Ameen,” he added.
