ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, has expressed sadness over the death of elder statesman, businessman and former Governor of the old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
Barau, in a condolence message posted on his X handle on Saturday, described Tukur as a patriotic Nigerian who made significant contributions to the development of the country.
“I mourn the passing of an elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who passed away today,” Barau said.
He described the deceased as a prominent businessman and politician who served as Governor of the old Gongola State, stressing that he contributed immensely to Nigeria’s development across various spheres.
The Deputy Senate President extended his condolences and sympathies to Tukur’s family, as well as the government and people of Adamawa State, at the time of their grief.
Barau also prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, have mercy on him, expand his grave and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
“Allah Ya Jikan, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur,” he added.
Precise Post recalls that the last political office Tukur held was the National Chairman of the PDP from March 2012 to January 2014.
