Abuja, (PRECISE POST)  –  Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), has firmly refuted claims circulating online that he was recently attacked.

In a strongly worded statement released on Monday by SK Usman, a close associate, the reports were dismissed as “mischievous and utterly false,” describing them as the work of individuals bent on spreading fear, misinformation, and confusion.

“For the avoidance of doubt,” the statement clarified, “His Excellency celebrated the Eid festivities peacefully in Abuja, surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers, and has remained within the Federal Capital Territory since then.”

Precise Post recalls that Senator Ali Ndume had recently claimed on TV that General Buratai and his convoy were attacked by terrorists in Borno.

The statement condemned the false reports as “a product of the reckless imagination of the purveyors of fake news” and called for their actions to be “condemned in the strongest terms.”

Buratai, who holds the traditional titles of Betara of Biu and Garkuwan Keffi, received an outpouring of support from concerned Nigerians following the online rumours. “Your overwhelming show of love and support is deeply cherished,” the statement added, thanking well-wishers for their prayers and goodwill.

Usman concluded by asserting that no amount of propaganda can tarnish the image of a man who has devoted his life to national service, emphasizing that “truth will always prevail.”

The statement was published via Arewa Agenda to address the growing concerns stemming from the unfounded reports.
