ABUJA (PRECISE POST)  –   The Certified Institute of Auctioneers Nigeria (CIAN), Abuja Chapter, has launched a comprehensive two-year strategic plan aimed at fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and professional community of auctioneers within the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking during his inaugural address in Abuja, the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Chapter, Auct. Ajayi Franklin, described the occasion as “a new beginning in the history of the institute.” He emphasized that the Abuja Chapter is entering a transformative phase focused on innovation, growth, and heightened professionalism.

“We are not just auctioneers; we are professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in our respective fields,” Franklin declared.

The 2025–2027 roadmap unveiled by the Chairman is built on four key pillars: Professional Development, Membership Engagement, Advocacy and Partnerships, and Governance and Transparency.

Key initiatives under the plan include regular training and capacity-building workshops, the establishment of a fully operational auction house, and the commencement of monthly live auctions at the CIAN secretariat to provide practical experience. A fully equipped “one-stop-shop” secretariat will also be developed to support members with essential tools for auctioneering.

To strengthen membership and community building, the leadership aims to recruit at least 20 new professional auctioneers, launch a mentorship programme pairing seasoned professionals with newcomers, and host annual conferences alongside end-of-year social events to review progress and set new goals.

On advocacy, the Chairman noted that the chapter would prioritize partnerships with government agencies, regulators, and industry associations, while also lobbying for policy reforms to advance the auctioneering profession nationwide.

Franklin further pledged to uphold transparency, accountability, and sound resource management through robust governance structures.

He called on members, partners, and stakeholders to support the chapter’s efforts in elevating the profession and contributing to Nigeria’s broader economic development.

“With your support, I am committed to working tirelessly to achieve our goals with dedication, transparency, and accountability,” he said. “Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant community of auctioneers in Abuja.”

The inauguration event marked a turning point for CIAN Abuja, signaling a renewed commitment to professionalism, relevance, and institutional advancement in the auctioneering industry.
