Abuja (Precise Post) – The latest COVID-19 report from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) late Thursday night has it that 23 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 1,041 new infections.
The report released via the agency’s twitter handle account reported that Lagos state – the epicentre of the novel virus top the chat, accounting for 316 cases followed by the FCT with 220 while Kaduna came third with 83 confirmed cases.
Others are: Plateau-70, Gombe-56 and Oyo-56 each, Katsina-47, Nasarawa-35, Kano-33, Ogun-21, Rivers-17, Niger and Imo-14 each, Delta, Kwara and Edo-12 each, Benue-9, Anambra-8,
Taraba and Ekiti-4 each, Ebonyi-6 and Bayelsa and Sokoto recorded 1 infection each.
According to the health agency, the total confirmed cases have risen to 81, 963 while total discharged cases in Nigeria since the index was recorded in February now stood at 69, 651.
The NCDC added that 1,242 lives had been lost to COVID-19 related complications.
