Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about a deeply personal moment in his relationship with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, admitting that he once cheated on her before they got married.
The singer made the revelation while reflecting on a challenging period in their relationship, describing it as a time when things were not stable between them.
“I was most disappointed in myself when I cheated on my wife when we had a little rift back then before we got married. I thought I could have done better because she’s an amazing person,” he said.
Davido explained that the incident forced him to reflect on his actions, noting that it marked a significant turning point in his life and relationship.
“That was the only time I knew I really messed up, but I have fixed it and we’re married,” he admitted.
According to the award-winning artist, he has since made conscious efforts to correct his mistakes and strengthen his relationship with Chioma, whom he eventually married.
In a related revelation, Davido also shared details about how their relationship began, recalling that they met during their university days. He noted that Chioma initially turned him down before they later reconnected in Lagos, leading to the relationship that would eventually culminate in marriage.
