ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, has condoled with former Rivers State Governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) Vice Presidential Candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, over the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Amaechi.
Dickson, who made the remarks in a post on his X handle on Friday, said he led a delegation of National Democratic Congress (NDC) leaders and other friends to visit Amaechi and his family following the death of his mother.
He described the loss of a parent as painful, noting that although Dame Mary Amaechi lived a long and fulfilled life, having died at the age of 89, her passing had left a significant void in the family.
“The loss of a parent is painful. Mama lived a long and fulfilled life, passing at the age of 89, but her death has inevitably left a void in the family, particularly in the life of her son, Hon. Amaechi,” Dickson said.
The former governor joined the Amaechi family in praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and for God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
Dickson also expressed appreciation to those who had continued to visit and sympathise with the family, urging the bereaved to remain steadfast in their faith.
He said the family should draw comfort from the meaningful life lived by the late Dame Amaechi.
“I pray the family finds strength in the knowledge that God gives and God takes. May they remain steadfast in faith and find comfort in the good and meaningful life Mama lived,” he added.
