Enugu CP decorates 17 newly-promoted officers, advocates dedication

ENUGU – The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Mamman Giwa, has charged police officers to demonstrate greater dedication, professionalism and responsibility in the discharge of their duties.

Giwa gave the charge while decorating 17 newly promoted officers serving in Enugu State in Enugu on Wednesday.

The commissioner commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, for recommending the officers for elevation.

He said their promotion was both recognition of their meritorious service and a call to higher performance.

Giwa urged the beneficiaries to continue to improve themselves and uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

“This promotion places on you additional responsibilities.

“Rise to the occasion and justify the confidence the Force has placed on you,” he said.

He said that 12 of the officers were promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP); while five advanced from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to SP.

Those promoted to CSP included: Arua Mba, Command’s Senior Staff Officer; Odum Chukwuka of the Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad; Nduka Ekeruo, John Okwa, Vitalis Aja and Georginia Nwaneri, DPOs of Igbo-Eze South, Ogui, Amechi-Idodo and Abakaliki Road Divisions respectively.

Others are: Kelvin Achuam, State CID Anti-Cultism Section; Justice Attah, Head of Command’s Legal Section and Innocent Omeje, Command Traffic Officer.

Others are Chimezie Peters, CPS Traffic Section; Charles Ejiofor, DCO Abakpa Division; and Onyekachi Ntum, Administrative Officer, 76 Police Mobile Force.

The newly promoted SPs are: John Owoicho; Salihu Umoru; Joy Onwuchuruba; Chibuzo Nwakaeze and Godwin Obochi.

Responding on behalf of the newly-decorated officers, CSP Arua Mba, appreciated Egbetokun, the Police Service Commission and the commissioner for their continuous support and leadership.

Mba pledged that they would remain loyal, dedicated and committed to serving the Command and the nation with renewed diligence and professionalism.

The event was witnessed by members of the command’s management team, senior officers as well as families, colleagues and well-wishers of the promoted officers. (NAN)
