ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Tuesday took his campaign straight to the grassroots, embarking on early-morning community walks across several area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Obi, who took to his X handle to announce this, hinted that he set out at about 6:30 a.m. from the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), beginning a day-long tour aimed at engaging residents directly and reinforcing his message of people-centered leadership.
His first stop was Abaji Area Council, where he campaigned alongside Dr Mohammed Ibrahim, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate. Obi spent over an hour walking through the community, interacting with residents and listening to their concerns, a gesture he said reflects the essence of responsive leadership.

From Abaji, Obi proceeded to Kwali Area Council to support Hon. Jeremiah Badoji, the ADC chairmanship candidate. Once again, he undertook a one-hour walk through the community, emphasizing that leadership must be visible, accessible, and rooted in the lived realities of the people.
The grassroots tour continued in Zuba, where Obi rallied support for Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, the ADC chairmanship candidate for Gwagwalada Area Council.
He later moved to Deidei Market, one of Abuja’s busiest commercial hubs, engaging traders and residents while canvassing support for Dr Moses Paul, the ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC.

Throughout the visits, Obi reiterated his commitment to inclusive development, stressing that governance must touch every sector of society, especially at the community level.
“A New Nigeria is not just a dream; it is a possibility,” Obi declared, underscoring his long-standing message of transformational leadership driven by accountability, empathy, and grassroots engagement.
