FCT Handball Championship: Naira Rain As Amb. Olutoke Doles Out N0.6 Million To Best Players, Coaches

Abuja – The Chairman, FCT Handball Association, Ambassador Dr Edward Olutoke on Saturday doled out six hundred thousand naira (N600, 000) to the four best players and their coaches at the just concluded 2022 FCT U-12/U-15 Inter-Area Council Handball.

Ambassador Olutoke who described the performance of the kids as exceptional announced the gift of one hundred thousand naira (N100, 000.00) only to the players as well as their coaches for distinguishing themselves during the four-day tournament.

“I am very much happy today that these children answered us when we called them. They came here and entertained us with beautiful handball display and we as aboard could not have asked for more.

“To this end and to motivate these children, I will give each of them the sum of N100, 000.00,” he said.

He further announced that of the coaches who prepared them

“Of course these children could not just have come on their own. There are people who prepared them very well for this competition. Therefore, they will also get N100, 000.00 from me.”

He directed the players to send in their parents bank account details to the association ‘s secretary for the payment to be effected.

Two players from the Abuja Municipal Area Council, Jumai Samson Bado Bameyi
as well as Kuje Area Council, Deborah Danjunma, Johnson Nabala each won the Best players awards with the former winning both female and male U-12 categories while Kuje won the U-15 male and female categories.

In the U-15 female, Most Valuable Player award went to Deborah Danjunma of Kuje. In the female U-12 category, Jumai Samson from AMAC was outstanding as she won the Most Valuable Player

In the U-12 male category, Bado Bameyi of AMAC won the Most Valuable Player while Kuje Area Council’s Johnson Nabala showed his talent as he emerged the Most Valuable Player in the male U-15 category.
